What do we do with your personal data?

The Green Magpie Edit is committed to ensuring that you know that your personal data, when processed by us, is properly protected.

When you shop with us, we will collect your name, contact and payment details so that we can fulfil your order. This is part of our contract with you to provide your items, but we also have a legal obligation to process the payment details as part of our accounting and tax responsibilities.

We will collect your email address so that we can keep in touch with you during the transaction and also to keep you in the loop about our fabulous new stock and to hear about sales, offers and exclusive events. You can also subscribe to our mailing list via our website. Keeping in touch with you is based on our legitimate interest to promote and grow our business, but if you decide that you no longer want to hear from us, you can unsubscribe at any time.

The only people who see your personal data, apart from us are:

Our website and e-commerce platform provider (WIX), and any IT contractors who might help us with our website.

Our personalised communications provider (Mailchimp).

Our payment gateway providers (Stripe, PayPal, I-Zettle).

The Royal Mail and other delivery companies we use to get the goods to you.

How long do we retain your data for?

If you buy something from us, we will keep details about that financial transaction for 7 years, because we are required to do so by law.

If you have signed up to our marketing list, we will keep your details unless you ask us to stop. Please note that if you ask us to stop, your email will stay on our “unsubscribe” list so that we don’t email you by accident.
